Never wavedash towards someone in neutral) while watching your opponent until you see an opening and then rush in wish your big ass sword of doom. just don't swing at him he's obviously looking for that so play off that.Dashdance and do short wavedashes (away from them, obviously. Realize that marths will pivot grab at end of their dd or at end of stage (this is really common vs marths who just keep running away lol) so just don't commit til they're a marth in the corner which is terrible vs fox and he has no dash back option at that pointīut yea your problem is you aerial forward just completely eliminate that and you'll improve a lot, don't fall with attacks intended to hit unless you have a read as they'll be looking for falling bair/drill etc just empty land dash back and fake the bairs and stuff. If marth wds he's in lag and can't immediately punish your running shine anyways usually he has to call it out by running forward and grabbing you or something Undershot nair into dash back by you baits a whiff punish which you then punish with a grab of your own Because that would be stupid.ĭon't nair at him use overshot grab and running shine, never nair forward vs marth ever and you will win far far more it's very op And you won't really know why or how it happened, but you'll know for damn sure that you aren't just nairing at them under a side platform 20 times a game. Eventually, you'll just sort of "get it" and you'll start thinking about more complicated neutral interactions and then you'll look back and realize you aren't getting "dash-dance camped" anymore. Just play the game, and try to incorporate some mixups into your play. It sounds daunting, but this literally just comes from playing the game. You have to have this stuff so ingrained that you can recognize the patterns, timing, and spacing of your characters in these scenarios without even thinking about it and then choose the right option on the fly. It's the reason why "just overshoot" isn't working for you. This is the reason why it's so hard for top players to perfectly articulate what they're doing sometimes. The thing about this game is you have to put yourself through these scenarios 100s of times before you get a feel for how each of these options work. You can try mixing in some of these options and maybe it just feels clunky and you're not converting as well and you're still getting grabbed. Running shine > literally anything will cover tons of groundīut unfortunately, that's not the only trick to this. Here's a list of other things you could do besides overshoot nair 99% of people say overshoot, but that is literally 1 mixup out of 100s you could pick from. You need to show them that it isn't going to work. They've dash danced grabbed a million foxes in their life, and when they play against a fox using the same approach over and over again, they just revert to using what they know is going to work. These players probably aren't even thinking that hard. Look, every single spacie main has had a period of their life when they get "dash-dance camped" by every Marth and Sheik they play.
